The Incorrect Word After “Try”

When you try, you try to do something, right? Do not use the word this guy used:

“Try and” means to do two equivalent things, which this isn’t.

And I’ll be a curmudgeon: in the first panel, he says “how’s things.” He should say “how’re things.” Harrumpf.
